eMagin Corporation (AMEX:EMA), a leader in virtual imaging
technology for defense and security applications, is demonstrating
its microdisplay and virtual imaging technologies in Stand 1009 at
the 2005 DSEi Conference and Exhibition being held September 13-16
at London's ExCel Exhibition Center. DSEi is the largest
international tri-service defense exhibition, with an expected
attendance of 20,000 visitors. Proven in deployed security and
defense systems, eMagin microdisplays deliver high contrast,
flicker-free imagery with the lowest power consumption of any
competing display solution. The microdisplays can operate
effectively at temperatures ranging from -40 degrees Celsius to
more than 65 degrees Celsius, the widest temperature range of any
display solution in the world today. "Situational awareness,
targeting, and surveillance make modern soldiers effective and help
them survive," said Susan Jones, chief marketing and strategy
officer, eMagin Corporation. "Key to making this information
available is our high-performance microdisplays. Our
OLED-on-silicon products deliver flicker-free, high-resolution
information with the lowest overall system power consumption.
That's why so many contractors are turning to OLED microdisplays."
To illustrate the flexibility and performance of its microdisplays,
eMagin is demonstrating examples of prominent OLED-based customer
products designed and qualified to operate in harsh environments.
-- Kaiser Electro-Optics full-color SO-35 monocular viewer,
developed for the Land Warrior Program, provides thermal sighting
and situational awareness (www.keo.com). -- Liteye Systems LE 400
full-color viewer and the LE 500 see-through viewers bring virtual
imaging to commercial and military customers in Europe and North
America. (www.liteye.com) -- Total Fire Group's monochrome,
helmet-based thermal imaging unit provides hands-free thermal
imaging for firefighters, leaving both hands free for the work of
fighting while providing critical visual information.

incorporates eMagin's Z800 3DVisor in a wearable, embedded-training
platform. Based on Quantum3D's THERMITE(TM) Tactical Visual
Computer and featuring a patent-pending weapon-mounted synthetic
environment controller, correlated head/body/weapon motion
trackers, and load-bearing vest, Expedition provides an integrated,
wireless, open-architecture platform that enables rapid development
and deployment of embedded training and mission-rehearsal
scenarios. (http://www.quantum3d.com) Based on the company's
patented OLED-on-silicon technology, the company's microdisplays
and subsystems meet the needs of near-eye applications ranging from
night-vision headsets and scopes to mobile command and control to
3D simulations. Built on this same technology base, the Z800
3DVisor provides full-color, 360-degree, 3D stereovision through
its state-of-the-art head tracking and SVGA 3D OLED microdisplays.
With hi-fi stereo sound and noise-canceling microphone, the Visor
enables group training scenarios as well as individual-based
sessions. OLED - Ideal for Near-Eye Applications Owing to the
inherent benefits of OLED technology, eMagin's SVGA+ microdisplays
deliver the resolution, brightness, and speed for a broad range of
defense and security applications. Because OLEDs refresh in
microseconds rather than milliseconds, eMagin microdisplays deliver
images and information virtually flicker free in near-eye
applications. With the world's lowest power display solution they
provide soldiers with critical information for extended periods in
harsh environments, ranging from extreme cold to high heat without
additional heaters or coolers. Since they emit light in all
directions, OLED microdisplays accommodate a greater range of pupil
movement than traditional LCDs. Coupled with their ability to
change full color and high gray scale data at rates measured in
microseconds instead of tens of milliseconds - this characteristic
makes them ideal for near-eye viewing. To make an appointment with

imaging technology, eMagin integrates high-resolution OLED
microdisplays, magnifying optics, and systems technologies to
create a virtual image that appears comparable to that of a
computer monitor or a large-screen television. With unique
technology for producing high-performance small molecule
OLED-on-silicon microdisplays and related optical systems, eMagin
is the only company to supply these displays in commercial
quantities to OEMs. In addition, the company sells integrated
modules to military, industrial and medical customers, and has
recently announced its first consumer system, the Z800 3D Visor.
eMagin's microdisplay operations are co-located with IBM on its
campus in East Fishkill, N.Y. Optics and system design facilities
are located in Bellevue, Wash. For additional information, please
