Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. plans to finish administering
first doses of Covid-19 vaccines by Jan. 25 at skilled-nursing
facilities where it is handling distribution efforts.
The company's vaccination campaign for long-term care facilities
is active in 49 states and in Washington, D.C., Walgreens said.
Earlier Wednesday, CVS Health Corp. said that it also planned to
achieve the first-dose milestone at the skilled-nursing facilities
in its distribution program by Jan. 25.
Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, which has organized the pharmacy companies' vaccination
efforts for long-term care facilities, Walgreens said it is
expanding its campaign to include assisted-living facilities and
other such residences.
