TriMas' Rieke Packaging Systems Plant Inducted Into Indiana's Environmental Stewardship Program

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TriMas
Corporation (NASDAQ:TRS) - a diversified global manufacturer of
engineered and applied products - today announced that its Rieke
Packaging Systems unit has been awarded membership into the State
of Indiana Department of Environmental Management's (IDEM)
Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP). Rieke manufactures
highly-engineered closure and dispensing systems for a wide range
of end markets, including industrial and consumer packaging
applications. The recognized locations are located in Auburn and
Hamilton, Indiana. "Over the past several years, we have embraced
continuous improvement objectives focused on reducing waste and
protecting our environment," commented Lynn Brooks, President of

been recognized by the State of Indiana's Department of Environment

community." To become an ESP member, a business must maintain an
exemplary compliance record, certify that it has adopted and
implemented an approved environmental management system, and commit
to specific measures for continued improvement in its environmental
performance. To earn the ESP membership, Rieke trained its
employees on water conservation and preventative maintenance to
improve water flow efficiency and leak inspections. By the end of
2009, Rieke has planned to reduce its water usage by 10 percent
versus the 2008 levels. An award ceremony will be held at the Rieke
Auburn, Indiana plant on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
(EST). Environmental awards are not new to Rieke Packaging Systems
for in September 2008, Rieke was presented the Governor's Award for
Environmental Excellence for "Five Years of Continuous
