The Carroll Shelby Foundation has launched the “Carroll Shelby’s Terlingua Texas” food line of authentic Southwestern products. Branded with the colorful Texan’s signature dynamic style and infused with Southwestern flavor, the line will launch with a broad range of infused olive oils and vinaigrettes. Proceeds from the sales at www.carrollshelbyfoundation.org will benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation.

“The Carroll Shelby Foundation was of upmost importance to Carroll, and still is to his Trust,” said Neil Cummings, co-CEO of Shelby International, Inc. and Carroll Shelby Foundation Trustee. “To continue to honor his legacy, we’ve developed campaigns that raise awareness and support of his foundation’s work. The Carroll Shelby Terlingua Texas food lines is a prime example of our dedication to generating awareness while also providing supporters and fans with quality Shelby products that they have come to love.”

Named after the small South Texas town where Carroll co-founded the world’s first chili cook-off in 1967, the Carroll Shelby Terlingua Texas food line will start with three premium olive oils: Prima Virgin olive oil, jalapeño and chipotle. Two gourmet vinegars will feature a garlic and cilantro blend, and a chocolate and jalapeño blend. In keeping with the Texas theme, the oils are known as “Olive Oil Elixir,” while the vinegars share the name “Snake Bite Vinegar.”

Inspired by Carroll’s original recipes, the foods are made from authentic, all-natural ingredients inspired by the region. Additional food products are in development and will be released at a later date. Products can be ordered online or at Carroll Shelby’s Store in Gardena, Calif., and Las Vegas.

“Carroll Shelby was always a creative and passionate soul,” said Jenni Shreeves, director of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “He enjoyed authentic Texan cuisine as much as he did high performance cars. The return of the of the Terlingua Texas food lines is a great homage to Carroll’s drive, personality and legacy. With these foods, we have bottled some of the Shelby ‘magic’ to raise support for the Foundation.”
