LISBON--The Portuguese government said late Friday that it has
received four binding bids for its airport operator ANA-Aeroportos
de Portugal SA.
The government didn't provide names or bid values in a press
statement.
ANA has drawn interest in an initial round last month of
companies including French construction company and highway
operator Vinci SA (DG.FR, VCSI), Flughafen Zuerich AG (FHZN.EB,
FLGZY), German airport operator Fraport AG (FRA.XE) and Argentinian
airport operator Corporacion America, according to people familiar
with the deal. Some of the companies put bids above 2 billion euros
($2.6 billion) then, the people added.
The targeted sale of the airport is part of a series of
privatizations Portugal has submitted to secure a EUR78 billion
bailout package from the European Union and the International
Monetary Fund.
