Virtual Ed Link, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: VRED) announced today that it will be developing a new Physical Security Platform for the School Safety Management System (SSMS). It is anticipated that the new platform would be available to school districts in the third quarter of 2010 for delivery in the upcoming school year.

4A International, a leading provider of market research services in the security field, recently stated that the overall security technologies' market will reach approximately $70 billion globally, rising 15% annually. The physical security market potential is estimated at 15% of this total number, or approximately $12 billion by 2012.

Physical security covers all the devices, technologies and personnel for perimeter, external and internal protection. Physical security includes everything from sensors and cameras to barriers, lighting and access controls. Efficient use of physical security technology provides not only increased safety for the students but can aid school districts in effective use of personnel during the current fiscal crisis now reaching many school districts.

The SSMS platform will now analyze raw information received from physical security devices and process the information into intelligence using the various components of the portal platform. An example of this technology would be exposing a student carrying a weapon on school grounds. Video analytics would detect the weapon and notify the proper personnel and authorities automatically without operator intervention.

VRED's executive management has had extensive prior experience with public safety projects for the New York Police Department (NYPD), the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and additional statewide systems for Florida, New Mexico, Delaware, Kansas, and Wisconsin.

"We look forward to bringing our previous expertise to the school marketplace and providing schools with state of the art technology to enhance the security and safety of our children," said John Bay, President and CEO.
