ABERDEEN ASIAN INCOME FUND LIMITED

(the "Company")

Result of Extraordinary General Meeting

The Board of Aberdeen Asian Income Fund Limited announces that, at the extraordinary general meeting of the Company held earlier today, the proposed special resolutions (the "Resolutions") were approved by Shareholders.

As a result, with effect from 1 January 2022, the Company intends to become tax resident in the United Kingdom and join the United Kingdom's investment trust regime in order to benefit from the double tax treaty arrangements that the United Kingdom currently has in place with several of the jurisdictions in which the Company invests. For this purpose, the New Articles will be adopted in substitution for the existing articles of association with effect from 1 January 2022.

In addition, also with effect from 1 January 2022, the Company's name will be changed to abrdn Asian Income Fund Limited to align the Company's name with that of the investment manager's business, which recently changed from Standard Life Aberdeen plc to abrdn plc.

Defined terms have the meaning given to them in the circular published by the Company on 20 August 2021.

Details of the number of proxy votes cast for, against and withheld in respect of the Resolutions (which were held on a show of hands) are set out below.
