Pittards signs sponsorship deal with Yeovil Town Football Club

Glovers pair up with 'the glovers'

Pittards plc (AIM: PTD), the specialist producer of technically advanced leather and luxury leather goods for global brands, manufacturers, and distributors, is pleased to announce that it has signed a new sponsorship deal with hometown team Yeovil Town Football Club.

The agreement with 'The Glovers' will see Pittards' branding added pitch-side and on the back & sleeves of the team 's shirt s. To celebrate the partnership, the club is also donat ing new kit to the Sarus Addus Sefir youth football team of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where Pittards employs circa 1000 people at its local factories and tannery, and who have been supported by Pittards in Ethiopia for the last 5 years, becoming 2021 Addis Ababa U18 trophy winners.

Both "Glovers" have long and rich histories that place local communities at the heart of what they do. The agreement builds on that philosophy and sets a foundation from which Pittards will continue to forge strong relationships well beyond the workplace and further the Company's ongoing commitment to social responsibility.

Commenting, Pittards' CEO, Reg Hankey, said: " Both Pittards and Yeovil Town FC have been part of the fabric of the town for over 150 years. Generations of the same families have worked here, and those same generations have followed the fortunes of Yeovil Town . The connection between the Club and the Company are strong too. As far back as 1896, Charles Wreford Pittard was playing in Goal for Yeovil Casuals, who would go on to become today's team. It is a natural fit for us to come together but what makes this agreement special is that it is a true partnership that creates benefits for our communities in both the UK and Ethiopia" .
