China plc ("the Company") was notified on 17 April 2003 by HSBC Guyerzeller
that, on 15 April 2003, LandFinance Limited purchased 10,000 ordinary shares of
10p each in the Company.



LandFinance Limited now holds 640,000 ordinary shares in the Company,
representing 6.00 percent. of the issued share capital.
