redesigned 2005 Mustang was named Auto Interiors' 2005 Industry
Choice Winner for Popular-Price Car at the Auto Interiors show at
Cobo Center in Detroit on May 18. Sponsored by Ward's AutoWorld
magazine, the annual event is a leading trade show and conference
for vehicle interiors. Awards were based on overall styling,
functionality, quality, fit and finish, convenience and special
features. The judges consisted of automotive journalists and more
than 900 industry enthusiasts. "Visteon congratulates Ford on its
interior-of-the-year award," said Jonathan Maples, vice president
and general manager of Visteon's North America Ford Customer
Business Group. "We are pleased to have played an important role in
maintaining the Mustang's status as a true American automotive
icon." Visteon content on the 2005 Mustang includes two
award-winning technologies. Visteon's Door Trim with Integrated
Subwoofer won the 2004 Society of Plastics Engineers Grand Award
for a patented door trim solution specifically designed for the
Mustang. By integrating the subwoofer into the door trim, Visteon
improved the Mustang's overall audio performance while reducing
door complexity and vehicle weight. An 8-inch subwoofer is housed
in a hermetically-sealed chamber in each front door, with the
interior surface contributing to the acoustic chambers. Visteon's
Instrument Panel also received recognition as an outstanding
innovation in the process-enabling technologies category. Using the
award- winning simultaneous-shot injection molding process, two
colors are simultaneously injected into the mold from two different
injection units on the molding machine. This process helps reduce
squeaks and rattles between the instrument panel and finish panels,
improves the dimensional integrity of substrate by eliminating the
need for paint ovens and improves scratch resistance as the
substrate is a solid color throughout. In addition, this enabling
process controls cost by reducing tooling costs, cycle time and
scrap. Visteon Corporation is a leading, full-service supplier that
delivers consumer-driven technology solutions to automotive
manufacturers worldwide and through multiple channels within the
global automotive aftermarket. Visteon has about 70,000 employees

manufacturing, sales and service facilities located in 24
