--Amazon.com Inc. plans to lay off about 10,000 people in
corporate and technology jobs starting as soon as this week, the
New York Times reported, citing people with knowledge of the

including the voice-assistant Alexa, as well as its retail division
and in human resources, the report said.
--The Wall Street Journal reported last Thursday that Chief
Executive Andy Jassy is leading a cost-cutting review of the tech
giant and that leadership is closely evaluating its Alexa business,
which has more than 10,000 employees.
--Amazon didn't immediately respond to a request for comment
from Dow Jones Newswires.
