ExxonMobil Fos-Sur-Mer Refinery in France Closes for Maintenance -- OPIS
24 January 2024 - 3:19AM
Dow Jones News
ExxonMobil has shut its 140,000 b/d refinery in Fos-sur-Mer,
southern France, for a planned turnaround, a company spokesperson
told OPIS Tuesday.
"[The] Fos-sur-Mer refinery will be shut down for a planned
turnaround starting January 20," the spokesperson said, declining
to reveal the expected end date of the work citing company
policy.
However, market sources suggested the maintenance work is
expected to last for one month.
The turnaround will focus on refinery maintenance, upgrades and
projects dedicated to energy efficiency, ExxonMobil said, adding
intermittent flaring and noise may occur.
The refinery currently employs a workforce of around 300, with
the capacity to produce 7 million metric tons/year of refined
petroleum products, data from the company showed.
