AGM Statement
At the AGM of Advanced Technology (UK) plc Greg Morgan, Chairman, made the
following comments on current trading
"It is encouraging to report that the order intake for the One-Way business
remains positive, reflecting the growth of the US Automatic Meter Reading (AMR)
market. The material shortage position reported in the 2002 Annual Accounts has
improved, but output was temporarily restricted by the implementation of
processes to enhance the new products, but is now recovering.
"The Two-Way Project in Ghana remains delayed, at least in part, by the changes
to the private sector participation program. The Ghana Water Company has stated
that the system will provide great benefits and continues to plan the adoption
of the project. The Board are unable to give shareholders a definitive contract
completion date but were encouraged by the recent press coverage of the project
in the Ghanaian media.
"Shareholders will be aware that the new electricity product was launched in the
spring of 2003. The United States pilot projects have been completed
successfully, and sales are gathering momentum".
