NEW YORK, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange(R)
(Amex(R)) announced today that it has launched trading in two new
exchange-traded funds (ETFs) by First Trust Advisors L.P. (First
Trust): First Trust Amex Biotechnology Index Fund (SYMBOL: FBT) and
First Trust Dow Jones Internet Index Fund (SYMBOL: FDN). These new
ETFs are First Trust's fourth and fifth ETFs to list on the Amex.
"We are very pleased to welcome First Trust back to the Amex," said
Cliff Weber, Senior Vice President of the ETF Marketplace at the
Amex. "These two new products are a welcome addition to the Amex
roster of ETFs and we are proud to have partnered with First Trust
again to bring these unique investment opportunities to the
marketplace." "We believe that financial advisors need a variety of
investment vehicles to help their clients reach their financial
goals. These two new funds, which focus on the biotechnology and
internet markets, provide these financial advisors with the tools
to do this." Said Dan Waldron, Vice President of ETF Product
Development at First Trust Advisors L.P. "Naturally, we're pleased
to partner with the American Stock Exchange and Dow Jones in
bringing these new funds to market." The First Trust Amex
Biotechnology Index Fund tracks the Amex Biotechnology Index(SM).
The index is an equal dollar weighted index designed to measure the
performance of a cross section of companies in the biotechnology
industry that are primarily involved in the use of biological
processes to develop products or provide services. The index is
rebalanced quarterly. The First Trust Dow Jones Internet Index Fund
tracks the price and yield of an equity index called the Dow Jones
Internet Index(SM). The index is designed to include only companies
whose primary focus is Internet-related. The index components are
selected from the eligible universe of Internet commerce companies
and Internet services companies using an equally-weighted
combination of a three-month average float-adjusted market
capitalization and three-month average share volume with a goal of
capturing 80% of the float- adjusted selection universe. The index
is reviewed each quarter. The specialist for the First Trust Amex
Biotechnology Index Fund and First Trust Dow Jones Internet Index
Fund is Goldman Sachs Execution & Clearing LP. About the
