                     Further re Joint Venture With Bolivar

  Gold Fields Limited ("Gold Fields") to Participate in Monte Ollasteddu Gold
                                    Prospect


The directors of Gold Mines of Sardinia ("GMS") are pleased to note the recent
announcement made by Bolivar Gold Corporation ("Bolivar"). The statement
outlines further developments with the joint venture agreement signed with GMS
on 5 September 2003 regarding the Monte Ollasteddu gold prospect in Sardinia.

It is the board's understanding that, subject to the execution of definitive
agreements and regulatory approvals, Gold Fields is to fund 100% of the costs
required to produce a pre-feasibility study and to complete a bankable
feasibility study. As a result, Gold Fields may earn up to a 60% interest in the
Monte Ollasteddu prospect.
