KUALA LUMPUR--Casino and resort operator Genting Malaysia Bhd (4715.KU) said Friday that its unit has signed four horse racing associations as partners to operate slot machines and a casino at its Resorts World Omni Center in Miami, Florida.

The agreement with Gulfstream Park Racing Association Inc., Gulfstream Park Thoroughbred After Racing Program Inc., The Florida Horsemen's Benevolent & Protective Association Inc. and Florida Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Inc. comes after Genting acquired Omni Center in 2011 as part of its $3.8 billion Resorts World Miami project.

"The partnership is the initial step toward enabling Genting Malaysia to create a leisure and entertainment resort" which includes a gaming facility with 2,000 slot machines in Miami, the company said in a statement.
