Argosy Gaming Company Names John J. Jones Senior Vice President,
General Counsel and Corporate Secretary ALTON, Ill., March 15
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Argosy Gaming Company today announced the
appointment of John J. Jones as Senior Vice President,General
Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Jones will report directly to
Richard J. Glasier, Argosy's President and Chief Executive Officer.
Jones comes to Argosy following a year in which he served as
Managing Director of Edward Andrews Group, Inc., a New York City
boutique investment banking firm serving middle market firms, as
well as an investor in and board member of Legal Advantage Services
Inc. Jones also served as outside corporate counsel for various
companies. From July of 1998 to December of 2002, Jones was
Executive Vice President and General Counsel of RCN Corporation, a
Nasdaq-listed Princeton, New Jersey telecommunications company that
provides bundled phone, cable and high-speed internet services over
its own broadband fiber optic network. Jones was responsible for
all legal matters, managed the execution of more than $4 billion of
public and private financing and was heavily involved in the
company's M&A activities. During 1998 to 2001, he was also
Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Commonwealth
Telephone Enterprises, Inc., a Nasdaq-listed telecommunications
company. "John is an outstanding legal talent who will provide a
positive impact throughout our corporate operation," said Dick

Corporation. "His valuable contributions will be wide-ranging and
based on experience with a diversity of business interests." Jones
began his legal career in 1991 as a corporate attorney with the law
firm Skadden, Arps, Meagher and Flom in New York City. He advised
and counseled clients regarding initial public offerings, tender
offers, mergers and acquisitions, debt transactions and general
corporate matters. From January 1996 to December 1997, Jones
wasVice President and General Counsel for Designer Holdings Ltd, a
NYSE-listed apparel company which owned the Calvin Klein Jeans
business. Jones managed their initial public offering, was
responsible for all legal matters, served as strategic advisor
tothe Chief Executive Officer and developed and implemented an
international anti- counterfeiting program to protect the Calvin
Klein brand. Jones received an undergraduate degree from Cornell
University and graduated summa cum laude from Boston University
