The Non-Executive Director Awards, in its 12(th) year took place
on Wednesday evening at the English Heritage-listed Claridge's
Ballroom in London's Mayfair district. This prestigious event
commends the valuable contribution and achievements of
Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) within Business, Not-for-Profit and
Public-Sector organisations.
A highly regarded leader, Malcolm motivates his business teams
to understand the dynamics of strategy, aspirations of the
leadership teams and ultimately sharing success. He also devotes
his skills and time to local community projects and charities.
Having spent over 40 years in industry including 25 years within
the PLC arena, Malcolm has a deep understanding of what is required
of a leadership team as well as a deep understanding of the
requisite skills required in relation to marketing &
communicating with the investment community both in the UK and
overseas.
Since joining the Flowtech Fluidpower Group as Chairman on IPO
in 2014, Malcolm has made a significant contribution to the Group.
Under Malcolm's guidance the Flowtech team has expanded the Group's
portfolio extensively across existing and new product categories;
completed 13 acquisitions; delivered synergies across the
organisation, established four clearly-focussed divisions; and
introduced 'profit sharing' at local level to focus on ROCE growth.
He has also been integral to successful fundraises from new and
existing holders in March 2017 and more recently in March 2018.
Malcolm has also been fortunate in not only floating and
managing a fully listed successful PLC (He was previously Managing
Director of Trifast plc from 1984-2002), he has been able to
broaden his experience through a succession of NED roles over the
past 15 years with a wide variety of both privately-owned companies
and PLC's including Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC, Unicorn AIM VCT plc
and Sytner Group PLC. Currently, in addition to holding the Chair
at Flowtech Fluidpower, Malcolm plays an active role as Chairman at
Trifast plc (stepped to NED in April 2017) and at discoverIE plc
(formerly ACAL plc) (appointed NED in 2015 and Chairman in
2016).
Malcolm reflects on winning the award:
"I believe that people management and simple fundamental
business objectives are perhaps the most crucial factors in
achieving success; treating customers, staff and suppliers with
equal levels of attention and respect. I am extremely honoured to
receive the FTSE AIM award for my work with Flowtech Fluidpower plc
and thoroughly enjoy working with the Board of Directors."
Furthermore Sean Fennon, CEO for Flowtech Fluidpower plc
commented:
"We are extremely proud that Malcolm has been recognised for
this award. He is a valuable member of the Board and a respected
colleague, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. We look
forward to utilising Malcolm's knowledge of European markets as we
develop our growth plans for the future."
