Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. on Wednesday said it is voluntarily recalling all lots of five Neutrogena and Aveeno aerosol sunscreens after "internal testing identified low levels of benzene in some samples of the products."

The company said benzene isn't an ingredient in its sunscreen products, and added, "we are investigating the cause of this issue, which is limited to certain aerosol sunscreen products."

The company said it was recalling Neutrogena Beach Defense aerosol sunscreen, Cool Dry Sport aerosol sunscreen, Invisible Daily defense aerosol sunscreen, Ultra Sheer aerosol sunscreen and Aveeno Protect + Refresh aerosol sunscreen.

The company said the recall is being made out of an abundance of caution, and also said the recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
