Re: Notice of Repurchase of Ordinary Share of Total

Please be advised that in connection with Total's share repurchase program,
TOTAL S.A. reacquired 1,180,000 of its ordinary shares, nominal value 10 euros
per share, in November 2003, through trades executed on the Paris Bourse. TOTAL
S.A. also cancelled 30,100,000 of its ordinary shares on November 21, 2003
(meeting of the Board of Directors : November 6, 2003).
