NORWALK, Conn., Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Defentect Group, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: DFTC), a developer and provider of immediate intelligent messaging software solutions, announced today that it has begun the process of installing its threat detection system at a major hospital located in the Northeastern US. Defentect's Gammatect™ sensors that are equipped to communicate with the Company's proprietary DM3™ technology are being placed at key access points on the hospital campus. This installation is the fulfillment of a previously announced order placed by the hospital, and the Company anticipates additional orders for the hospital's other locations around the country.

"The fulfillment of this order is an important step in solidifying Defentect's position as the preferred technology to protect our nation's medical facilities," commented James Ackerly, CEO of Defentect Group, Inc. "Facilities such as this have specific needs when it comes to radiation detection, as there are certain types and amounts of radioactive material that are expected to be transported in and out of the buildings while others are not.  Patients that receive radiation treatment carry certain isotopes with them as they enter and exit the hospital.  With other systems, this would trigger alarms, even if the cause were innocent. Defentect's solution provides isotope identification to discriminate between patients and unauthorized transit of radioactive materials.  An alarm will be sent only if an event occurs that is outside of the parameters set by the hospital. The sensor-agnostic nature of our DM3™ technology makes it the most attractive choice to these customers."
