Georgian Railway Announces Changes to Freight Transport
Tariffs
Georgian Railway LLC, Georgia's integrated railway company, has
announced that the basic currency of its freight tariffs will
change from Swiss Francs to U.S. Dollars effective from 1 February
2012, to better align costs and revenues for its customers and
suppliers which mainly trade in U.S. Dollars or Georgian Lari.
Georgian Railway will also reduce the volume discount tariffs
for oil and oil products transportation by 0.5 USD per ton-km of
transported oil and oil products, effective from 1 February
2012.
Freight tariffs within Georgia are fully deregulated, allowing
Georgian Railway to operate a flexible pricing model. The company's
detailed tariff policy can be obtained from the Georgian Railway
web-site, in the freight operations section (www.railway.ge).
