TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS


In conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 6 and AIM
Notice 25, we would like to notify the market of the following information
regarding the total number of voting rights and capital in respect of the shares
of the Company which are admitted to trading on AIM:


Shoprite has issued share capital comprising of 74,282,409 Ordinary Shares of 5p
with voting rights.


Shoprite does not hold any shares in treasury.


Shoprite does not have any other class of share which has voting rights.


Consequently Shoprite's total number of voting rights is 74,282,409 and this
figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by
which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a
change to their interest in Shoprite, under the FSA's Disclosure and
Transparency Rules.
