Cemtrex to Benefit from New Energy Bill
11 August 2005 - 12:55AM
PR Newswire (US)
FARMINGDALE, N.Y., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cemtrex Inc.
(OTC:CTEX) announced that it expects increased business and
benefits from the new Energy Bill signed by President Bush early
this week. The bill would allow energy companies and refineries
working on a significant expansion to write off half the cost for
equipment used in the first year. Normally, such equipment is
depreciated over a 10-year period, but under the law half of it can
be expensed immediately. This would create added incentive for
increased investments in equipment. The bill also provides with
billions in tax subsidies and requires utilities to follow federal
regulation rather than self-regulation. The measure funnels
billions of dollars to energy & refineries as tax breaks and
loan guarantees for clean coal technology and alternative energy.
"We anticipate tremendous benefit from the passage of this energy
bill," said Aron Govil, President & CEO of Cemtrex, "and expect
to see greater investments in expansion of refinery capacity thus
requiring increased number of emissions control and monitoring
systems." Cemtrex is engaged in manufacturing and selling the most
advanced and custom engineered equipment and systems for clean
energy and emission monitoring markets. Company's products are sold
to power plants, refineries, chemical plants, cement plants &
other industries including federal and state governmental agencies.
