Kennet Brysting appointed General Manager,
Gilead Canada
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Feb. 8, 2017 /CNW/ - Kennet Brysting has
been appointed General Manager of Gilead Sciences Canada, Inc.,
assuming leadership of Gilead's sixth-largest market. The former
General Manager of Gilead Nordics (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland), Kennet Brysting also joins Gilead's
North America Commercial Senior Leadership Team.
Jim Meyers, Executive Vice
President, Worldwide Commercial Operations, made the announcement,
noting Mr. Brysting's selection followed a competitive interview
process that heavily involved the Canadian Leadership Team and
considered internal and external candidates from four different
countries.
"Our top objective in the search process was to find the very
best person to lead Gilead Canada at
this time. That's not just in terms of leading Gilead Canada day to day, but to enable it to
thrive and grow in the years ahead," Meyers said.
"It's a great honour to be selected to lead the Canadian
business, and I am very excited to be moving to Canada," Brysting
said. "I look forward to connecting and collaborating with the
Canadian leadership team, our employees and our business partners
and customers."
Mr. Brysting's appointment was effective January 9, 2017. He succeeds Ed Gudaitis, who left the company in October for
another opportunity.
"My priority is a smooth transition, building on the past,
strong leadership in Canada,
collaborating with all of our stakeholders and developing a solid,
strategic vision for the Canadian organization's future," Brysting
said. "Gilead is committed more than ever to continuing to
transform and simplify care for people with life-threatening
illnesses and to ensure optimal access to the treatments they
need."
The multilingual Kennet Brysting has nearly 20 years of industry
experience, including prior pharmaceutical industry General Manager
experience, and more than four years as the General Manager for
Gilead Nordics, which he grew to be one of Gilead's top-10 markets.
He has an EMBA from Cranfield University, UK, and a Bachelor's
Degree in Management Accounting from Copenhagen Business
School.
"I'm confident Kennet brings to Gilead
Canada an overall leadership philosophy that is consistent
with what we aim for at Gilead: empower and hold accountable, in a
manner that also inspires and motivates," Meyers said.
