0830 GMT [Dow Jones] DOE hands out $87 million in solar power
R&D and development funds, mainly to U.S. research centers and
colleges, but Pinnacle West Capital Corp. (PNW) unit Arizona Public
Service gets $3.3 million and Exelon Corp. (EXC) unit Commonwealth
Edison gets $5 million for solar-panel deployment projects. APS
will build and study impact on distribution system of 1.5 megawatts
of distributed solar-panel generation. ComEd of Chicago will
evaluate consumer reaction to smart meters and price signals with
solar panels, without solar panels and with both solar panels and
