                       ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, 18 JULY 2003

At the Annual General Meeting of Airsprung Furniture Group held today, Philip
Bradshaw, Chairman, made the following statement to shareholders:

"Trading conditions continue to be difficult.  Nevertheless, with all Group
companies leaner and more highly focused, we are in a good position to take
advantage of any upturn in the market.

The board has been aware for some time of my wish to retire by the 2004 Annual
General Meeting and consequently we are planning to appoint a chairman designate
in the near future."
