MELBOURNE, Australia--Bendigo & Adelaide Bank Ltd. (BEN.AU),
Australia's fifth-largest retail bank, has appointed director
Jacqueline Hey to succeed Chairman Robert Johanson when he retires
in late October after 13 years in the role.
Before joining Bendigo's board in 2011, Ms. Hey was chief
executive in the U.K. and Australia of Swedish telecommunications
company Telefon LM AB Ericsson (ERIC). She currently also is a
nonexecutive director at Qantas Airways Ltd. (QAN.AU) and utility
AGL Energy Ltd. (AGL.AU).
Her appointment comes a day after fellow regional lender Bank of
Queensland Ltd. (BOQ.AU) said Chairman Roger Davis would retire in
October and be succeeded by Patrick Allaway, who joined the board
early this month.
